Code of Conduct

Last updated: June 2026

1. Our community values

Neighborly exists to help neighbors help neighbors. Treat every user with respect, honesty, and fairness regardless of background.

2. Respect and safety

No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination. Report unsafe behaviour via Support or the Report feature.

Meet in appropriate settings, communicate clearly about scope and price, and follow local safety guidance.

3. Honest listings and reviews

Providers must describe services, pricing, and areas served accurately. Clients must leave truthful reviews and praises.

Do not manipulate ratings, post fake jobs, or retaliate against honest feedback.

4. Payments and disputes

Agree payment terms before work begins. Resolve disagreements professionally; escalate to Neighborly Support or Disputes when needed.

Do not request off-platform payments to evade accountability when a job was booked through Neighborly.

5. Verification and trust tiers

Submit genuine verification documents. Misrepresentation may result in strike, suspension, or removal from the Platform.

6. Consequences

Violations may lead to warnings, strikes, loss of trust tier, account suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity.

Repeated or serious breaches may be reported to authorities where required.

7. Reporting violations

Use in-app reporting or contact support@neighborly.co.za. We review reports confidentially and take action consistent with our policies.
